"in everything, give thanks." 1 Thessalonians 5:18a
Everything. I am thankful for my family, those three beautiful children God gave me and the husband who is a companion to me and wonderful father to them. My Mom who gave everything she had to give in order to give my brother and me everything she never had. My Dad, (step-dad) who taught me to trust and love again after a childhood of pain and sadness. My brother Jeffrey who survived said childhood with me and is my best friend.
I am thankful for the friends that have stood by my side both new and old. (Though I'm hesitant to name names since I love you all equally, I have to say that Jenna, you are the sister I never had and I praise God for that second opportunity He gave us to reconnect after our teen years.) I am thankful for all of you guys who have supported my passions and endeavors so that I might get to share them with the world.
I am thankful for my illness. Though it has not been easy, it has taught me patience, complete surrender to the Lord, and that I can conquer anything with His help. I'm even thankful for Asperger's. Yes, I just said that. My Peanut has taught me things about life I might never have learned otherwise. It has taught his siblings how to be kind and understanding to everyone around them.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that though it might be quite easy to be thankful and happy in good times, we must remain grateful of heart in all times.
