Our stint on FLEA MARKET FLIP!

Hi y'all!  I'm excited to FINALLY be able to share my awesome news with you!  Last year, Erika and I filmed an episode of FLEA MARKET FLIP!

In case you have been living under a rock, FMF is a show by the HGTV network, hosted by Lara Spencer (of GMA fame) where two teams are given $500 and a 'flip list' and set free at a flea market to buy 3 pieces that they must flip for profit.  The team with the most profits, wins a cash prize!

HGTV Blogger Block Party 2016

**Thank you to HGTV Magazine for kindly sponsoring this post. All opinions are 100% honest & completely my own.**

Hey y'all! GUESS WHAT?! I'll be at the HGTV Blogger Block Party this year again!

Y'all know I try not to go ANYWHERE without my bloggy bestie, Lynn.  Last year's Blogger Block Party was NO EXCEPTION!

HGTV Blogger Block Party Evey's Creations Fern Avenue Ciburbanity
Me, Charlotte, Lynn, Kandice
We met in the city early in the day, then met up with our other awesome friends (read: SQUAD), and headed over to HGTV Magazine's AWESOME event! If there's an HGTV event, Lynn and I are THERE. Fun fact: Lynn, Charlotte and I were all on HGTV's Flea Market Flip at one point in our furniture flippin' lives! :)

We crafted and hung out with other friends as well, including our awesome buddy Sarah from Nestrs and HGTV's Beach Flip.

HGTV Genevieve Gorder Evey's Creations and Fern Avenue in NYC

Then we hung out with our REALLY good friend, Genevieve Gorder....I'm just kidding, she has no idea who we are! ::smile:: She was super cool, very friendly and her presentation on the Trends of 2016 ROCKED, though! Lynn, of course, loved all of the tribal stuff! It was super fun to get to meet her!

We TRULY had a blast, and guess what?! THAT'S NOT ALL! YOU can attend it, too! :)

Go RSVP to attend HERE!

It's super simple to RSVP for the event! Just hop over to the Events page over at HGTV Magazine's website here and click on the "RSVP" button, then fill out the info on the pop up! SO EASY!

You won't want to miss it! This year's line up of speakers and events looks SO FUN! Genevieve (we're on a first name basis) is back, and Cari of Cash and Cari will be there! She's super sweet and Lynn and I have gotten to speak to her a few times at the Country Living Fair in Rhinebeck.
Side note: Lynn and I just got back from a conference in Atlanta where Sherry and John were the keynote speakers! LOVED their talk, they were just so funny and engaging, as well as edifying!

SO yeah, join us! Make sure that you use the hashtag #bloggerblockparty while you're there so that we can find you and say hi!

Also, attend because then you can be cool like we are an maybe even be in HGTV Magazine in PRINT!

I hope you were able to detect the sarcasm in that above comment. I've never been cool...I'll NEVER be cool. Also, I just noticed that the above photo of me might be the WORST photo out there of me EVER and it's in PRINT. sigh. Charlotte, Lynn and Kandice look adorable, though! :)

COME OUT! Have fun, and say hi to us, please! :)

12 days of Giveaways- Day 1 Creative Carmella and DLee's World!

YAY! You guys! It's FINALLY here, day one of my 12 days of Christmas giveaways! :) Make sure you check back everyday as you will have to win 2 different items each day. All posts and giveaways will go live at midnight on their respective day!

We are starting off with two of my favorite people, Ms. Creative Carmella and Ms. Diana Lee!

If you have been following along on my journey here for awhile, you know that my sweet friend Mella means the WORLD to me, and that I own several of her pieces, including a custom Evey's Creations cupcake necklace, and the Sweet Song Bird necklace I wore when E and I filmed Flea Market Flip for HGTV/GAC last year! :) The producers weren't too happy about it since it kept jingling into my mic, but I refused to take it off and they ended up having to tape the whole thing together and to let me! I was going to wear my Mella piece, whether they liked it or not! It's also in my picture over to the right on the blog.

She has a heart of GOLD and every winter turns necklaces into coats for underprivileged children. You can read about that here on her blog. She's taking a short holiday break from her online store, so make sure you stay tuned to her social media pages to see when she opens it back up! Fair warning, her items usually sell out in a couple of days, so you have to be quick! :)

Here is a short blurb from her:

"Hi, I'm Carmella, the voice and artist behind the Creative Carmella blog & shop. I am a mom to three, they keep me on my toes but I still manage to find a little time for my creative outlets and love for new friends to follow along! Thank you sweet Evey for letting me share one of my necklaces with your friends, good luck to you all! I hope you'll stop by my corner of the blog world soon!"

She is giving away this really pretty necklace with a wonderful reminder, just in time for the holidays! Thank you Mella!

Our second giveaway for today is a set of Dlee's books in a super sweet tote.  Fun fact: Diana and I went to high school together!
Here is a short bio on her:

"Diana Lee Santamaria has been an early childhood educator for six years. She has a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education along with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies. Diana’s preschool learning books entitled, DLee’s Color Hunt, DLee’s Outdoor Countdown, and DLee's First Day of School are her first three educational books in her series. As an educator, Diana Lee wanted to create books that were authentic to her students, while enhancing their overall developmental abilities. Thus, she has incorporated diversity into every character within her books. As a woman of Hispanic decent, Diana Lee understands that children need to see characters that are representative of themselves. Resultantly, she created the character DLee based on her own physical appearance as a child and “DLee’s World” based on a compilation of her own childhood and experiences as a teacher. Diana Lee's books encompass her creativity and quirkiness, while still maintaining relevance to her preschool readers, ages three to five. Her scholastic series aims to answer the educational questions and challenges that her readers face throughout the beginning stages of their lives.
"As a child who struggled with reading, I understand the importance of literacy and making it fun for children, so I work on bringing all these elements into DLee's World."

As of 2014, Diana has written fifteen “DLee” stories. Her overall goals for the books are to keep her readers engaged and wanting to read more, while expanding their learning."
Her books are super cute and have awesome illustrations, as well. I just know the early reader in your home will love them! Thank you Dlee! Good luck, everyone!
