"Pure and Original Elegance": April FFFC- Sponsored by Pure and Original Paints

**Even though this post might contain affiliate links or sponsored content, all ideas, thoughts, and opinions are 100% my own!**

Hey y'all! A new month can only mean a new thing around these parts...A NEW FFFC! What's the FFFC, you ask? Why it's our awesome monthly sponsored contest for furniture flippin' bloggers who LOVE to stretch their imagination to the limit theme after theme, month after month!

This month's Fab Sponsor is none other than Pure and Original Paint USA! I'm so very excited to share this paint company with you guys, I'm totally smitten by it! The options in finishes, colors and products are so vast and amazing, it makes my head spin with delight! It's also green and super safe, which you know is huge in my book!

Our theme: "Pure and Original Elegance", which was so fitting for this high end brand. Are you ready to see my project?! I teased it a bit yesterday when I incorporated it into my #swapitlikeitshot project HERE.

Check out the BEFORE pics of my piece:

This table spent quite a few years in an old barn before I saw it for sale a couple of summers ago

$10 later, and it was mine. It was absolutely gorgeous but needed a lot of work. I didn't feel like taking it on at the moment so I used it but kept it covered up with everything from tablecloths and runners to doilies.

Duke Photobomb

Yup. There he is again, photobombing my blog post pictures like a BOSS! Ohhh Duke!

Back to the piece, though. When Pure and Original decided they wanted in on the FFFC action, I instantly KNEW I wanted to redo this lovely entryway table for this month's contest.

I thoroughly cleaned the piece, you can see how here.

Then I sanded it to ensure proper adhesion and to get rid of all of the scratches in the piece, as well as to be able to stain the top.

I used two colors to get my favorite layered finish ever, Blue Reef and Polar Blue.

 Aren't those colors so yummy!?

I'm in LOVE y'all. Honestly, just in love with the piece now! I stained the top in a custom color, more on that later, and painted the base with that Blue Reef, then white-washed the Polar Blue over it. I sanded back on the Polar Blue to reveal more of that gorgeous Blue Reef. I did a Periscope of the technique which you can catch HERE. I then slightly distressed the edges and anywhere that a piece would naturally distress overtime. Though Pure and Original's Classico line does not require a sealant, I always seal my pieces. I haven't gotten around to it just yet but will soon. I want to keep that dead flat finish so I'll likely use their Dead Flat Eco-Sealer.

See how I accomplished the accent wall using P&O HERE
Isn't that finish to DIE for!? Honestly, if that doesn't scream "Pure and Original Elegance", I don't know what does.

It makes me all sorts of happy!

Make sure to check out all of our other Fab Hosts' inspiration pieces for this month.

  1. Oh my! I do love these colors from Pure and Original and how you layered them on the piece. It looks like this is the original finish....worn over time. Lovely, Evey...just lovey. Thanks for linking to Friday's Furniture Fix. Sharing to IG and FB later today.

  2. Evey, I really love what you did with this table! The dark top with the light blue make a perfect combo! I haven't tried Pure and Original yet but I like the finish, even nicer with that dry brush technique. By the way, you are brave sanding it over the carpet!

Thanks a lot for sharing it with us!
