My faux Christmas Mantel!

 I know what you are thinking..."THAT is NOT a mantel".  Well, to that I say, "indeed!".  It's my faux mantel or "fantel".  No, I didn't make that word up, I swear.  You see, I don't have a fireplace in my house.  Isn't that terribly sad!?  A blogger WITHOUT a mantel.  It's true, though, so I decided to fake it!

I decided it should be red, green and a bit of white here or there. I also decided it should have a touch of vintage to it, because that's just how I roll.

I thought I should use and repurpose things I already had in my house.  I know you LOVE my wine bottle candle holders! :)

I dressed up the bottles for the occasion, too!  Took my vintage mitre box (You are jealous, I KNOW!) and dressed HIM up for the season as well, with some fresh cut pine tied together with some red and white baker's twine.

Of course, I had to use some Epsom salt in my apothecary jars to fake a little snow to go along with my mix of new and vintage red and green mini ornaments.  I then made this yarn and felt wreath while watching a little television in bed. I'll spare you the tutorial as there are MANY online, such as here. See that sweet ornament with the 2012 on it?  It was a handmade gift from my sweet bloggy hero and friend, Ms. Cheri of It's So Very Cheri.  I heart it very much so.  I also heart HER! ;)

Every single jar, stand, and piece on display was either a treasure from a garage sale or a thrift store.  The chalkboard was given me by a sweet friend. How's that for thrifty!?  ;) Have YOU a decorated mantel or "fantel"?
