Sewing Table Base Repurpose- Guest post!

Hi y'all! I truly do have the most talented friends. I can't wait for you guys to see how incredible Robin is! This has to be one of my favorite repurpose projects ever. Check it out...

Hello! I'm Robin from Redo It Yourself Inspirations where DIY and repurposing is just another day. I was thrilled when Evey asked for guest posts and said that I could share something with you!

Here are the steps using a very simple upcycled table top and repurposed sewing machine base to create a whole new table!

I was lucky to get this old treadle sewing machine with a fantastic base. So taking it apart to clean it and paint it was step one. I sprayed on enamel oil based paint.

Then I salvaged an old maple oval top and sanded it down to bare wood to give it a new stained finish. It was followed up with a top coat by rubbing on polyurethane.

I used the original sewing machine screws to attach the refinished top to the base.

And the results were stunning.

The table top and sewing machine base look like they belong. It is a perfect fit!

Those extra wooden parts? They  went to good use! I put them onto this treadle sewing machine for a whole different restoration! Your can read about that one here.

Thank you so much for having me today, Evey and everyone! I hope I was able to inspire you with my work to encourage you to try some of it yourself!
