Romantic Double Date Tablescape on a Budget

Want to have a fun double date for Valentine's day, but just can't get out?! No problem! Stay home! This tablescape including the three projects involved, cost me under $30 to make and since it's rustic and yet beautiful, it calls for a rustic dinner as well! Roasted chicken and potatoes anyone?!  (That's well within MY budget!)

I shared my No-sew table runner with you already!

Check out my lovely centerpiece! Branches from my backyard's forsythia, with some handmade vintage valentine's day inspired mason jar lid ornaments in a vintage mason jar that I already had! Total cost: $0. I have tons of jar lids left over from when I've used just the jars for other projects!
I completed the look by adding smaller jars with smaller branches and making small poms with dollar store tissue paper.  I added some burlap and ribbon around the jars to tie it all in with the runner.

I had the kids write love notes to their dad and to me, I also wrote some to hubby and hung them on the tree.
I also made napkin rings with the burlap and some more ribbon.

The mason jar lid ornaments were very simple and low cost to make! I promise to do a tutorial sometime next week! Here is a close up of one!
Isn't she DARLING?! I got the graphics from none other than The Graphics Fairy's blog. So thank you Ms. Karen for your lovely images!

Everything else I had, so use what you have! All thrifted, low cost, items!
So what do you think? Good enough to make you want to stay home?
Drink out of mason jars, mix your favorite drink and have some fun!

ENJOY!

xoxo

  1. You're so dang creative! Do you ever sleep?! I love everything about this tablescape. If you held me down and tickled me and made me pick a favorite element, I'd say the love notes. How cute!

  2. This is simply beautiful, and I LOVE the thought.I can't promise I will do the tablescape, yet I am totally going to do the "game."We would much, much rather stay in that pay over the top sums for lesser quality food!So happy I got over to your blog,it is similar to a much needed refresher.Best wishes.
