Hi y'all! If you know me in real life, or if you have followed this blog for awhile, you KNOW I have a passion for Dr. Seuss and all of his incredible books and characters! Every year, come March 2nd, we celebrate his birthday and throw an after school party for our friends in his honor!
I didn't go as all out this year as I usually do. This was right smack in the middle of me being at my sickest, pre-surgery. However, it wouldn't have been March 2nd, without celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday, so we did what we could! With the help of my sweet cyber-bestie Dawn, and some awesome printables, we were able to have some Seussical fun! I shared most of this party a few weeks ago over at Spaceships and Laserbeams, but just in case you missed it here it is again!
Dawn was sweet enough to ship me this dress along with some delicious and GORGEOUS cookies! Doesn't my Wunkie Princess look beautiful?! Love her!
Of course, it's Dawn, aka Ms. Pop-A-Razzi, who loves Seuss as much as I do, so even the box she shipped these incredible cookies in was decorated! It was only right I place it on the table as part of the decor!
She really captured each Seuss character SO well. "Red fish, Blue fish", anyone? Perhaps a Cat's hat?
How about the cat, himself? My personal favorite characters, those troublesome Things!
The detail is absolutely amazing. They, of course, were delicious, too!
My other favorite character is Sam I am! Why do I love the badly behaved or irritating characters so much? That says something about me, doesn't it?
My daughter absolutely LOVES Horton. She has a stuffed Horton that she drags everywhere!
I made some Thing One and Thing Two inspired vanilla cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.
We had some green eggs and ham. The eggs are simply deviled eggs with some green food coloring. If you have never made deviled eggs, you are missing out! Just take the hard boiled egg yokes out sand mash them up in a bowl or run them through the food processor. Add some mayo and spicy mustard, salt and pepper to taste and you have delicious deviled eggs!
We drank some "Pink Ink" and ate some red fish. For the "Pink Ink", I took some store-bought 100% Juice lemonade, and added some frozen raspberries to it about 15 minutes before the party so that the lemonade would stay cold and turn pink.
My Wunkie Princess loved every moment as well, but especially the cupcakes! Isn't she so cute?!
I gave out bookmarks as party favors. Those and all other printables can be found here and were done by Wanessa Carolina Creations.
All in all, we had a terrific and Seussical time! I hope I have inspired you to throw a Seuss party of your own next year! Like Seuss said, "Today good, today was fun, tomorrow is another one."
xoxo
