I am always amazed at human nature, the fact that we have this need to be "someone", even if it means being someone else. What is even more amazing, however, is that Christ loved us JUST AS WE WERE! "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."- Romans 5:8.
Today was "Good Friday", the day we remember Christ's walk through the "Via Dolorosa, all the way to Calvary" (Sandy Patty's song is incredible, google it!). Over 2000 years ago, He gave Himself willingly for us and died on a cross to free us of our sins! So, what does that mean? It means we're free to accept that gift, free to accept HIM as our Savior and Lord. We are more than "someone" to Him, we meant enough to Him that he gave his life for us! What now? It's all about "How we live" (Point of Grace song, google it!). The lyrics state: "Wherever you are and wherever you've been, NOW is the time to begin...". He's waiting with His arms open, for you to run to Him, because the BEST part of the Easter story, on Friday He was crucified, but on Sunday, HE RESURRECTED!
So take a hold of His hand, and live to glorify Him, enjoy the life he gave us, and one day we'll get to live the ETERNAL life He gave us on that cross. Happy Easter, y'all!
