Socks for Sandy

Hi y'all! If you have watched any news lately, you surely have heard about Superstorm Sandy and the devastation she caused the East Coast, particularly the Jersey Shore.

The devastation is heartbreaking, especially to those of us that hold Jersey so close to our hearts! My township got hit pretty hard as well. There are thousands still without power and heat. The worst part, there is another nor'easter coming our way. It's already extremely cold!

I want to introduce you to my sweet bloggy friend, Laura. She blogs over at The Shed.

She lives on the Jersey Shore, in the Little Egg Harbor area. Thankfully, her home survived the devastation that wiped others around her. She's amazing, and in the short time since I met her over at the Hometalk community, I've grown to admire her! You see, soon after the storm hit, she took her own belongings and went to a local shelter to give them to those who had not had her fortune. While she was there, she noticed that many of them didn't even have socks on their feet, and so Socks for Sandy was born! Please, I urge you all to gather socks, gloves, winter hats and even a scarf or two, and mail them over to Laura at:

Here is her beautiful post regarding Socks for Sandy!

It would mean the world to us if you could do this! If you can't, and donating money seems easier, then please donate to the Red Cross or to Samaritan's Purse. Both organizations are here on the ground providing much needed assistance! Thank you!

Xoxo,
Evey
P.S. please pardon the formatting of this post...my Internet is still gone though I do have power (praying for those still without) so I wrote this via my iPhone and an app!
