DIY Screenprinting with IKONART

I had used an IkonArt Stencil back in Kansas last July, during an event at which I taught. I loved the reusable stencil and I loved the idea of being able to design and make my very own stencils at home! While I use my Cricut to make stencils all the time, they are single use stencils. I was especially intrigued at the idea of converting the brand new IkonArt Textile Film into a reusable screenprint!

So I did just that!

Here's what you'll need to make your very own screenprint!

    • Canvas Frame (remove the canvas by removing the staples from the back or cutting along it with a craft knife.
    • Sunflower SVG from this Sunflowers bundle (which is currently only $2.50 WITH commercial license)
    • Printer (You must use the corresponding film, so inkjet film for inkjet printers and laserjet film for laserjet printers.)
      • Pro-Tip: Use either a PNG file or even better, an SVG file for best results and for a cleaner stencil
Here's the video tutorial for the method!

Honestly, my daughter is in LOVE with her new hoodie, and I love how easy it was to make! The best part, is that I can easily recreate it with my washable and reusable stencil and screenprint! We're already planning on making a matching tote bag!
